and sizingIn order to calculate the capacity of a pressure tank with membrane, it is necessary to know the plant specifications. For example, water consumption required.
The sizing of the tank can be calculated using the following formula:
Taking into account:
- K
- Working coefficient of the pump (see table)
- Amax
- Average flow (liters per minute)
- Pmax
- Maximum working pressure of the pump(bar)
- Pmin
- Minimum working pressure of the pump(bar)
- Pprec
- Pre-charge pressure of the tank(bar)
Warning!Always set the pre-charge of the tank 0,2 bar less than the pump power pressure
Example
System data:
- Pump power4 HP
- K= 0,375
- Amax= 120liters per minute
- Pmax= 7 bar
- Pmin= 2,2 bar
- Pprec= 2 bar
Pump power (HP) | Coefficient (K) |
---|
1–2 | 0,25 |
2,5–4 | 0,375 |
5–8 | 0,625 |
9–12 | 0,875 |
In any case we will adopt the closest measure to the calculated value
